CLINICAL SERVICES

1. MEDICAL 

Pediatrician & Psychiatrist : Doctor assess all the patients coming to OPD for any medical co-morbidities like Epilepsy, Nutritional Deficits and Behavioral issues. The management is planned accordingly along with medication and therapies.

 

2.  THERAPEUTIC SERVICES

i. SPEECH THERAPY

Assessment & management of speech and language disorders such as articulation disorders, fluency disorders, voice disorders, deviant language, and receptive and expressive language delays etc. The speech therapists provide their services for intensive speech stimulation, auditory training, communication disorders and other speech and language delays.

ii.  PHYSIOTHERAPY

Assessment of Gross Motor Skills in children with neuromuscular disorders, such as Cerebral palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy etc. and other Motor deficits and their intervention. Assessment and Therapeutic Intervention in children with Musculoskeletal Disorder.

iii OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Assessment and management of gross and  fine motor skills, psycho-social skills, cognitive and perceptual skills by an Occupational Therapist. Occupational Therapist provides guidance regarding aids and appliances. Sensory Integration therapy provided to the ASD children.

iv BEHAVIOUR THERAPY AND PLAY THERAPY

Management of associated Behavioural problems in the form of Behavioural modification therapy and ABA are done by a Clinical Psychologist

 

3. PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT : 

IQ assessment for severity of disability is done and certificates are issued only to those who have IQ below 70.Online application of disability certificates and UDID cards are done on www.swavlambancard.gov.in

 

4. OPTOMETRY UNIT

Assessment and management of visual acuity, errors of refraction (including Cycloplegic Refraction/Retinoscopy), Phoria’s, Squint , Nystagmus by Optometrist.

 

5. SPECIAL EDUCATION

Assessment and training of adaptive skills by a special Educator for children above 3 yrs. of age including training of personal, social and academic skills. Functional assessment and planning for future training including special education, inclusion, pre-vocational and vocational training is also provided.

 

6. SOCIAL SERVICES

Social worker guides the parents/family for UDID cards , Railway Concession Certificates, Guardianship Certificates , Nirmaya Health Insurance and Pension.
