SCHOOL GRIID

Comprehensive Training is being imparted by Special Educators, Vocational Instructors to educable and Trainable groups in order to develop their Personnel, Social, functional academic, recreational and occupational skills . Total 495+ students are enrolled in GRIID school under 35 sections with 01 Play Group, 02 Preparatory, 05 Primary, 04 Secondary, 06 Pre-Vocational, 11 Vocational Sections, 03 Care Group, 02 Day care, 01 Autism and 04 new Autism Sections to be started soon.

ADMISSION CRITERIA AND RULES AND REGULATION

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Mentally Challenged Children of both sexes are eligible for admission in day school.
The age should be between 06 to 25 years.
I.Q of the child should be above 20.
Comprehensive medical, psychological & Education assessment is done prior to admission
The child should be fit for education and training duly assessed by the team of experts at GRIID.
Preferably the child should be toilet trained and does not need custodial care.

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR HOSTEL

Mentally Challenged Children (Male) are eligible.
The age should be 8 to 14 years. The maximum duration of hostel is 4 yrs. and it can be extendable upto two years on the performance of children from time to time. The child should not be permitted to stay in the hostel on attaining the age of 18 years.
Children with mild and moderate intelligence are eligible for admsiion.
The child should be fit for education and training and not a custodial case that requires hospitalization for associated medical disorder or physical disability.
The decision of officer Incharge / Principal regarding admission be final.
An application alongwith affidavit duly signed by the Child's Parents / guardian alongwith 03 Nos. recent passport size photograph, family photograph, relevant papers regarding proof of date of birth and residence should be submitted at the time of admission.
Children who are residing in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula are not eligible for admission in hostel.
Children should obtain Medical Fitness Certificate from GMCH Authority / GMSH, Sector-16, Chandigarh.

Passport size photograph of child.
Passport size family photograph.
Birth Certificate.
Residence Proof (copy of Ration Card/Passport/Voter ID/Tel/Electricity Bill)
Copy of I.Q Certificate.
Blood Group Report.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

It is compulsory for the parents to attend the parents meeting regularly, continuous 3 absents will lead to expulsion of your ward from the school.
Parents must seek prior appointment if they wish to meet the class teacher (meeting timing 1:30to 2:00)
Parents of the children using official transport must come to the bus stop to pick and drop their ward. Failing which the child would be brought back to school. Thereafter parents have to make their own arrangement to pick their ward from the school.
Parents must ensure punctuality of their ward.
75% attendance in a year is compulsory. Long absentees without any reason would lead to termination from the school.
School authorities shall not be responsible for any loss of property/ornament of children.Parents must ensure that their wards should not carry any expensive items to the school.
All the belongings of the children should be neatly labeled.
Children should compulsorily bring their school diary, as it is the only mode of communication between school and Parents.
Parents must send their child in complete uniform everyday.
Submission of duly filled application form with relevant enclosures is must. Incomplete form or false information liable to cancellation of application.
